Catan Aufbruch der Menschheit
Thematic variant of Catan, a simulation of early human history. Beginning in Africa, you colonize other continents. You start with three camps and one explorer. Explorer move across the board and can be upgraded to camps which earn resources and victory points. Placement and movement of explorers is paid for with resources, there can only be two explorers of a player on the board at any given time. Four progress tracks influence, among others, range of explorers or checking exploration slots; to advance on the trcks you must discard resources. The Robber is replaced by Neanderthaler, restricted to Europe and Asia, and Sabretooth Tiger, restricted to Australia and America. Special victory point tokens are most successful hunter, fastest hunter and gatherer (for one camp per color).
