Sushi go!

Running Sushi at the game Table

What does pass me and what do I fancy? What do I not want my neighbor to eat? All 108 Sushi cards - Maki, Tempura, Sashimi, Mussels, Tuna, three kinds of Nigiri, Wasabi, Chopsticks und Pudding - are shuffled and you are dealt 7, 8 or 9 cards, depending on the number of players. In three rounds you play several turns in which all play simultaneously. You choose a card and put it face-down on the table, then all cards are revealed and you hand your remaining cards to your neighbor. Then a new card is chosen, set down and revealed and you hand on the rest, and so on until all cards of the round have been played. You display your cards sorted into groups. Wasabi is covered with one Nigiri, you can have several such pairs. If you use Chopsticks you can keep two cards next turn, the Chopsticks are handed on.

When all cards have been displayed you score Makis for majorities in their symbols, Tempura and Sashimi for sets – cards that are not part of a set are worth nothing! Mussels get more valuable with each card. Nigiri on its own has values of 1, 2 or three, a Nigiri with Wasabi trebles its value. Wasabi alone is worth nothing. Now all cards played, with the exception of pudding cards, are discarded and new cards are dealt for a new round. After three rounds you score your pudding cards – whoever has the majority gets 6 points . and win with most points.

Sushi go! offers a simple card drafting game with a little bit of tactic and a lot of chance, as not all cards are in play. If you are good at memorizing cards you have a little advantage, if not, it does not matter, the game is good fun in any case.
