Käpt’n Memo

48 tiles in a 7x7 grid form the ocean, a saber sits in the center slot. In each trip, one player is captain and and steers the ship to find five treasure chests before the ship capsizes. All others are sailors and decide if the remain on board, get out or mutiny. In a trip, three steps are repeated: 1) The captain turns up the tile in front of the ship. 2) He moves the ship according to the rules. 3) Sailors decide on their actions. Tile options are: Single dangers are harmless, two identical dangers make the ship capsize -  five treasure chests terminate a trip, the captain takes three of them, sailors on board receive a barrel – telescopes to the captain, to be used to look at a tile – palms are harmless – rubies go to the captain if there is a chest visible for each ruby. If you leave the ship, you get a doubloon for each visible chest. If you want to mutiny you must grab the saber and the captain turns up the tile in front of the ship: If the ship capsizes, the mutineer gets a barrel and the trip ends; or else he leaves the ship without success. When, after a trip, gaps in the ocean cannot be filled, you score barrels, chests, rubies and doubloons and win with the highest total.
