PLAYED FOR YOU

Going, Going, Gone!

Five simultaneous auctions

In seven rounds you make bids for cards that are on display, in order to collect cards of the same type, that is, cards either depicting identical items or identical flags. The value of a collection or set is solely determined by the number of cards in it; the type of collection is irrelevant, but you cannot mix types in one collection/set.

Auctions are represented by five clear cups and you make bids simultaneously in all five auctions while the auctioneer of the round counts down from 10 to 0. For each round a total of seven cards is laid out, two of the five cups get 2 cards, three of the cups are dealt one card each. You make bids by throwing wooden cubes = money of your own color into the auction cups next to the cards. The auctioneer terminates the auction by covering the cups with his paddle when he has counted down to 0. If you have most cubes in a cup you win the respective card or cards. In between auction rounds you can sell collections anytime to the bank for many. You get between 2 and 44 cubes/money units for 1 to 7 cards. Should you already have acquired all of your cubes you are paid with chips of value 10, which score at the end but cannot be used in bids.

After seven such rounds you win with the highest total from the value of your collections and remaining cubes/money.

In a tactical variant collected sets are on display openly as are collections that have been sold for money.

This is a cute, simple and very attractive auction game; the fun is in selling collections at the right time to have enough money to stop another player to collect seven cards of a kind and thus ending up with a set worth 44!
