PLAYED FOR YOU

Gib Gas!

A tactical card game

With his personal set of cards, comprising 6x Speed, 1x Dice, 1x Keep Speed and 1x Pit Stop, each player tries to adapt the speed of his car to the characteristics of the current track section. 32 out of 36 section are in play, four of them are laid out - these sections can show either Full Speed, Brake or Crash! All players play one card from their hand face-down; then cards are revealed and scored: First all players with identical speed collide, take damage and mark damage on their damage card as stated on the section card. Those players also do not participate in scoring of the track section card. Then the player who best meets the condition of the track card, that is, the Fastest or Slowest, takes the section card, or the Fastest or Lowest takes damage in case of a Crash section. If you play the pit stop card you also do not participate in the scoring, but can roll the die and take 1-3 cards back in Hand. Otherwise you take up your cards again when all have been played. When four sections have been scored, four new ones are laid out from the stack.

If you must move the marker off the damage card, you must quit the game and the game ends instantly, as it does if all sections have been scored. You then win with the highest total of victory points on your track sections plus your remaining score on the damage card.

This is quite an unusual race game, you do not try to be fastest across the finish, but to react in the best possible manner to the current track section by making optimum use of your cards and to try and avoid collisions. Luck and bluff are balanced with tactics, good card memory can help.
