Der Kampf um die Demokratie

Semi-cooperative, asymmetrical game for four; players represent four parties: SPD, Zentrum, KPD und DNVP. SPD and Zentrum try to defend democracy and with it the republic, the other factions attack the democratic movement to further their own interests. Multi-Use cards trigger events, influence political discussions, or provide options for other actions. Over time, coalitions will form, but DNVP and KPD cannot be in a coalition together. Discussions are marked on an influence track and provide victory points in relation to the marker position. The parties try to take over eleven cities in six rounds. When the republic prevails, victory points decide the outcome of the game, but the influence of everyone’s enemy, the NSDAP, must be kept down, The game features two main stages  - public opinion with influencing important topics like economy, media, and foreign politics and on the other hand control of the streets and positioning of followers in cities for demos, street fighting and actions of para-military groups.
