Concerto

Conductors competition, using a previously assembled orchestra. The game features 48 cards for music in three levels of difficulty and from different genres, also 72 cards for nine different instruments, and 48 wooden counters showing different beat patterns. One piece of music per level and two  instruments are on display; you are dealt five instruments and a special action card, two of your instruments form your starting orchestra. In your turn, you select one of five options: add an instrument to your orchestra, play a special card, swap hand cards, swap an open piece of music or conduct a piece of music. For each added instrument, you draw a wooden counter, memorize the beat pattern, and put the counter down, facing the other players. If you want to conduct, you select a piece of music on display and perform the beat patterns for the instruments in the order they are depicted on the cards – instruments need NOT be in that order in your orchestra! If you conduct all patterns correctly, you take the card, advance on the victory points track and then remove one of the instruments used from your orchestra. In case of a mistake, the music piece card goes out of play. If you reach or pass the necessary number of victory points on the track, you win- Includes Conductor cards for a Maestro variant.
