Pick Nick!

The colorful bird catches the worm!

Nick the Bird plays Hide & Seek with his insect friends, across the blossoms to the hole in the tree branch; but this time the little insects hide under the hideout leaves on the board. Each player chooses an insect, takes the corresponding disc and all double-sided leaf tiles - they show the respective insects on their back side. You roll the die; for one of the colors - red, blue or purple - you place a leaf tile on the board, at the beginning on the first free blossom of the color you rolled. When you have placed all your leaf tiles, you can then move a tile to the next free blossom or - if none is available in this color - directly on the finish area. If you rolled purple, you have also rolled nick and therefore you first move a tile to the next purple blossom and then you have a try to let Nick pick up a tile: You position the bird in front of a tile of which you believe that it is not one of your own, pull back Nicks head as far as possible and let go. Nick moves his head forward. If he manages to pick up a tile, you show it and then put it underneath the hindmost hideout leaf or back to the start. If Nick does not succeed in picking up a tile, nothing happens, the turn simply passes to the next player. Whoever has all his leaf/insect tiles at the finish area first, wins the game.

Pick Nick is a very cute mixture of a lot of memo and action and also a little bit of tactic, because you want to try to end your turn underneath a hideout leaf as often as possible. You need to pay close attention to know exactly where your own insects are positioned in order not to move yourself backwards or even back to the starting line.
