Lincoln

Lincoln is a card-driven conflict simulation on the American Civil War. Mechanisms are control and area movement. Strategy as well as chance come from a deck of cards for each player, there is no dice. The basic mechanism is „deck destruction“ - you discard cards to provide units and leaders. The active player has two action plas maybe free actions and draws cards up to his current hand limit. Action options are deploy unit, move army, attack, discard card, card action and pass. The Confederate player wins, when the Union player has fewer than 2 VP before shuffling his deck the first time. When the Union has played through his deck for the 3rd time, he wins with 12 or more victory points. The Confederate player wins instantly when the marker on the Europe track reaches the Europe end or if he controls Washington at the end of a Union turn.
