Operacja Most III 

 

Days of Honor: Operation Wildhorn III - A conflict simulation on a WWII scenario, topic are the secret rocket tests instigated in Poland; one player represents Poland and tries to collect rocket parts for the allied British in the aftermath of tests; the other player represents Germany and try to protect the secret as well as possible.

Each player holds his own deck of cards, made up from Unit cards, Support cards as well as Action Cards and Immediate cards which are played for effects, not actions.

Three Zone Cards mark the Polish Home Zone, a Neutral Zone and the Rocket Vase Zone as German Home Zone. Each of the four rounds begins with drawing of five cards. Then new rocket parts are laid out, followed by actions of the active player who chooses from possible actions or passes. Actions are playing of a card into a home zone or activating a card on the table or playing of an action card. In addition, you can play Immediate cards and use Immediate abilities directly without activation and use the abilities of the cards on the cards on the table. Card abilities comprise Attack Explore, Command, Volunteers, Soy, Movement, Support, Escort, Good and Bad Luck, Ambush, Nurses, Witnesses, Motorcycle Movement and special events. You win after four rounds with most rocket parts.

The interesting aspect of this very detailed simulation of a nearly unknown historical episode is the identical target for both factions - collect most rocket parts - and this forces you to cleverly balance your game between collecting parts and fighting. The chance elements from drawing cards s are realistic, too, and well balanced.
