PLAYED FOR YOU

Hook!

Shoot cannons at parrots!

Doldrums! Bored seamen shoot at each other with cannon balls to collect most parrots! Each player has a hit cad, showing a pirate or a sailor, in one of three colors, plus three Sight tiles corresponding to his character, which show three gaps each in different spatial arrangement. 96 Target cards show different symbols in varying amounts and arrangements and are dealt evenly to all players. On a starting command all act simultaneously, turn over the top target card from their stack and place them onto the table next to themselves; each player must be able to easily see all symbols on all cards. All players now decide quickly which one of their Sight tiles they want to place on which laid-out target on the table. You must place a sight tile that you touch and may rotate a sight tile over your chosen target card, but you must not hinder another player to place his card there before you. As soon as any Sight card is placed it cannot be rotated or taken back. Then the tiles are scored. For each visible crew member the player taking the hit must take a cannon-ball tile, for the Black Pirate you assign a hit to another player. Barrel or cage protect you from hits, but a bomb hits everyone. For rum you can discard one hit and if you managed a parrot you may take the target card. When all target cards have been played, you win with most parrots on cards you won.

Cute, fun, somewhat satirical, simple but not very easy - you want to achieve hits and not receive them and be ousted from the game when you take your ninth hit; so speed is essential in the perfect game against boredom doldrums!
