In the conflict of the Seven, outcast species sense their chances; the expansion introduces two new alien species that can be chosen in the set-up phase of the game, featuring species-specific special rules. Exilia command extraordinary orbital technology; orbitals with population markers are deemed to be ships, have their own blueprint and give one SP at the end of the game. The Rho Indi Syndicate ambushes ships; payments to the syndicate give relative security; the syndicate cannot build battle ships and pays increased costs for materials; ships have a shield; interceptor planes and cruisers have enhanced initiative.
