Korrigans

Gold at the end of the rainbow

Leprechauns in Ireland, Korrigans in Brittany and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! As a tribe of Korrigans you search for four-leaves shamrocks carrying gold coins and various mounts – hare, squirrel, mole, bird, mouse or frog. The board with shamrocks and Menhirs is prepared. In a round you first draw and place a rainbow piece; a new color is put on a sun symbol, a repeated color on a cloud symbol, rainbow stones block rows and columns for the pot of gold. Then you move one of your Korrigans, using a mount – the mount is then put in front of your screen and can be used again. Then you secretly look at the shamrocks in the new case and take one behind your screen. If you take the last shamrock in a case, you also take the Menhir and apply its effect – Dwarf Bonus or Goblin Penalty, Troll as an obstacle, Pixie for removing someone’s screen, Fairy for a second turn or keep the Menhir for gold coins.

When the seventh color of the rainbow is drawn, the pot of gold appears and all players have one more turn to reach it with both of their Korrigan pieces. You use mounts behind and in front of your screen, can do several moves, but must discard each mount after one move of one Korrigan with it. Then you add up your gold coins on shamrocks, on Menhirs, for a dwarf bonus and for one or both Korrigans at the pot of gold. You deduct an eventual Goblin penalty and win with most gold.

Simply beautiful! Story, mechanisms, components, all is colorful and cheerful like a rainbow, the rules are simple and yet there is some tactic from Korrigan movement, as you know which places are blocked for the pot of gold.
