Dominance along the nile

In Ancient Egypt of Mythical times, mighty gods send their troops into battle in a struggle for dominance, using their powers to support their troops and to summon and control magical creatures. Let’s start with an unusual rule - you can win temporary and permanent victory points. Temporary victory points are acquired from occupying regions with temples or from building and defending pyramids; permanent victory points are won in attacks and victorious battles, one permanent point per battle.

During the game day and night phases alternate until a player wins with 8 or 10 victory points, as decided at the start of the game.

The Night Phase - or preparation phase of a turn - comprises allocating of 2 Prayer points, dealing of Divine Power cards, effects of Night powers and determining of turn order, this is determined by the player with fewest victory points. The day phase comprises implementing of action markers and allocation of Prayer points - those points can also be used to acquire Power tiles - and permanent victory points on the board. Actions that were used are covered with markers on the pyramid on the board and at the end of the action phase you must have covered at least one action in each of the three pyramid levels - you can pray, recruit and deploy troops, raise pyramids and acquire power tiles in three colors, which, for instance, can enhance mobility of army units.

Kemet offers a very tense and intense conflicts simulations which remind one of the original CoSims as regards to implementation and flair, but uses far fewer rules and plays much more elegantly, streamlined and faster.
