Coup: Reformation

Italy in the era of the city states: Each player takes on the role of head of a family in such a city state, ruled by a weak and corrupt court. For each of the five roles - - Duke for income, Assassin for attacking, Captain for taking coins, Ambassador for new cards and Countess for blocking the assassin; for each role there are three cards in the game and you have two cards face down. Those cards represent influence when face down; for loss of influence you turn one up; with both revealed you are out of the game. In a round you chose one action; if it is not challenged or deflected it succeeds automatically. You can choose any action you want and can pay for. The last one in play wins. Negotiations are allowed, agreements are not binding.

Reformation is an expansion for Coup City State, introducing new cards and rules for factions and team play. You must declare yourself Catholic or Protestant (or Loyalist/Reformist) and can only target members of the opposite faction; conversion to another faction is possible.
