Games company or pasta variety?
This is a game of knowledge where fast reactions are as important as is pure knowledge or association. The game features cards that show one of eight symbols and a term on both ends of the card, so that it can be easily red. There are two sets of such cards with different backsides, the ones with purple backs are meant for easier or introductory play.
In turn you reveal a card. When two cards show the same symbol a Quick Duel of both card owners is triggered: If two cards are visible showing a circle each and and the terms of tourist attraction and games company, you win if are first to name a tourist attraction if your own card says games company, and vice versa. Whoever wins the duel, takes the opponent’s card for a victory point. When the removal of the card reveals a new pair a new duel is triggered. Jokers are placed separately, show two symbols and also trigger duels when correlations happen. When all cards of the set have been turned over you win with most cards.
You can decide if you want to play with or without allowing repetition of words and - if both players should really answer simultaneously - a third player turns up a new card and whoever names a suitable term for this card, wins the duel. Answers are valid when accepted by all players.
Cute, witty, fast and fun - a well-made cross-selection of general knowledge and - if you like an educational side-effect - an excellent training for fast content-understanding reading. Another proof for the fun and interest provided by this felicitous concept are the editions in several languages - there are even two different German editions, one from Kosmos and one from Piatnik.
