Cards carry terms and are stacked by treasure chest backsides. In rounds 1-4 you turn up a card from the one-chest stack and use the letter with the round number; in round 5 you turn up a card from the two-chest stack and select the term. The current card is put into the chest and all throw appropriate letters not the chest and name them. When all are done, the stack of cards is turned over and cards are laid out one by one; a letter appearing for the first time gets a treasure put on it, first pearls, then gold and then rubies for 1, 2 and 3 points. Double letters are set aside. When all letters have been resolved, you give back treasures for each of your doubles, starting with the most valuable ones you scored. The player with the then most points gets the card. A set of cards, Speed Letters Junior, is included with easier terms for children.
