Geschenkzwerge are a new range of games in the Haba program, small, nice, quick games in cube-shaped boxes. In Verrückte Zahlenparty the topic is rolling dice and counting. At the start, number cards 1-10 are dealt evenly to all players, showing the side with the white frame. Those images show party guests, who all carry a gift that is marked with a number sign. The backside of the cards show the respective gifts. Then a story is read and cards are laid out in sequence in rows of 1 to 5 and 6 to 10.

Then players decide if they want to use the dice with numbers or the dice with pips and take the respective dice, green for pips and blue for numbers.

In your turn you decide on the range of numbers, 1 to 5 or 6-10, and take the corresponding number or pip die. For a result of number or pips you search for the card with the corresponding number or number pips and count to make sure that you have the correct card. If the card does correspond to the die result, you take the card, turn it over to the gift side and set it down. When the symbol for “Gift” was rolled, you may take any card from the rows and if you roll “Give a Gift” you give one of your cards to another player. If you do not have a card yet, you cannot give one away. When all cards have been taken, you win with most cards.

Gift Dwarf (Geschenkzwerg) hits the nail on the head for this game, it is a nice little gift and game that comes in a handy box. It is an ideal gift guest to host to take along. It plays quickly and easily, with a known topic and yet not boring, and is also a nice educational game in disguise, for counting and amounts.
