You are a taxi driver in the Tasmanian jungle and should try to collect lots animals and to place as long a track as possible; the cards for that track must be won in duels with other players. Route cards show one or two path ends at their long sides; these cards are sorted by backside, shuffled and you turn up the top card in each stack. Duel cards always show two cars of different colors, the car in the circle is the car of the challenging player. A duel card is turned up, each of the indicated players chooses a bag with wooden animals and tries to pull out an animal from the bag quickly. This animal must match the animal silhouette on a card that you can place correctly - all paths are continued - next to a card in your display. Whoever pulls out an animal first stops the duel; if it is the correct one and you can place the card, you do so. If not, you put the card back and your opponent has a chance to pull out an animal. Then animals go back into the bag. However, should the card you just placed for a correctly found animal show this animal in a full picture instead of only this animal's silhouette, you keep the animal. When all duel cards are used, a round ends. After four rounds you win with most points from one point for each card in your display and each animal.

Taxi Wildlife offers an unusual mix of mechanisms, with even a bit of tactic from observing which animal that is already with a player came from which bag. But first and foremost you need to look quickly and grope quickly - which card can I use? Can I find the crocodile faster than my opponent? He could use the card as well!
