Flatterspatzen

Colorful birds in all directions

The game features 30 tiles with 16 different fluttering birdies. Each of the tiles shows different birdies on the front side and on the back side – so each of the tiles shows four different birds front and back. There are also four so-called winner tiles, they only show one bird on the front and back sides. Aim of the game is to be the first player to be rid of all tiles, for this achievement you get one winner card. Depending on the number of players, you win with two or three of those cards, that is, rounds. However, there is one other way to win, with the perfect tile!

The 30 tiles with fluttering birdies are distributed evenly among players, a surplus is set aside. All try to place tiles simultaneously. To place a tile it must have at least one bird in common with a tile already on the table, the direction of flight is not important and you may turn over the tile, of course.

When a tile fits, you put the corresponding bird on top of the one already on the table. If you can place two or three birdies on top of each other, you call “Flatterspatz”, all stop for a moment and the player gives one of his tiles to his left neighbor. If someone spots a mistake, he announces this with “Flatterspatz”, too – whoever had made the mistake receives a tile from the other. If you manage to play a perfect card, that is, cover four birdies with one of your tiles, wins the game instantly.

This is a typical F-Hein game – attractive images, simple rules, colorful and beautiful. Flatterspatzen is unusually interactive, a bit hectic, works well and is fun! The birds are not easy to distinguish and provide good observation training.
