Monsters & Maidens

SAve maidens, fight monsters

The maidens in the realm are disappearing and as an aspiring hero you must save them and fight the monsters responsible for the disappearance. You play turns of six phases – Roll Dice, Save Maidens, Battle, Repeat those phases, if you want, Score and Cleanup. You roll all dice – Maidens as a result are saved automatically and set onto the hero card; in the remaining dice results one monster and one hero each cancel each other out and are set aside. If monsters remain, they catch one maiden each from the hero card; if heroes remain, they save one maiden from the monster card; the maidens are moved accordingly. Then you can re-roll all non-maiden results and do the first three phases again. If you stop or if one of the automatic end-of-turn conditions happens – only heroes or only monsters remain after setting aside saved maidens, or only maidens rolled, or no maidens left on the hero card after the Battle – you score the number of maidens saved on your hero card. If you did not roll any maidens in your first roll, you receive an Epic Failure Card. This card can be used in your first roll of your next turn to change the result of one die; you cannot save the card for use later in the game.  When a total of 20 x number of players maidens has been saved by all players, you win at the end of the round with most saved maidens.

All of this is familiar, you roll and set dice aside, re-roll dice, are pleased, are aggravated – here we play with monsters, maidens and heroes, but we also did worms or knights or ... Monsters & Maidens is just another multiplayer solitaire dice game, a version for a standard genre.
