Australien: no overall-connected power grid, only in South there are connected cities - so you can connect all cities for a lump sum. Uranium is not used for energy production but is mined and sold to other countries.

Indischer Subkontinent: If the grid is expanded too quickly massive power interruptens threaten; the resources market is restricted, too, and there is no guarantee that you will get what you need. Garbage plants burn animal waste with a lower efficiency factor and therefore always neet +1 garbarge to produce electricity.
