The river crosses all types of landscape and is rich
in gold, so all want to build roads and settlements at its banks. The river is
placed first, then the rest of Catan, the swamp goes without number chip, but
the robber starts in the swamp. The rules of the basic game apply, additionally
a road bordering a river tile and a settlement at a river tile corner is worth
1 gold, a settlement at the delta corner 2 gold, 3
gold earn a victory point flag. The
winner needs 12 victory points.
